Wayne Township has sent out the alert below. PLCA will follow the Township’s decision and NOT open the East Beach today.

Dear Residents,

The New Jersey DEP has issued an air quality action day today, June 7, for Particulate Matter due to wildfire smoke.  Individuals including those with heart and lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time outdoors. 

Due to the seriousness of this alert, the Township has decided to take precautions and will close its outdoor recreational facilities today, June 7, 2023.  This include the James W. Roe Memorial Pool and athletic fields.  The Township will follow NJDEP advisories and update conditions on its website www.waynetownship.com.
