The September membership meeting is right around the corner and there are some very important membership issues that are on the docket for you to vote on. These issues center around the need for the lake to increase revenue to keep pace with our growing operating costs, while building back our depleted reserves. The Board of Governors has spent the last 12 months analyzing every revenue stream we have for the PLCA and have made various improvements to many, but at the end of the day, membership dues still represents 90% plus of all lake revenue. Our goal is to raise dues as little as possible while continuing to explore other revenue possibilities. We’ve been working hard: new field rental rates have been approved to increase revenue generated by rentals, and transactional credit card fees will now be charged to the payor instead of the PLCA eating that expense. The savings on the credit card fees alone will save the PLCA around $20,000 a year. There have been other plans which were voted and approved by the governors, but ultimately denied by the directors. We plan to rework some of them in the future in hopes of gaining the approval of the directors, and ultimately bring them forward to the membership for a vote. Not all solutions are quick solutions. The requested change below will help to keep the PLCA moving forward, while the board continues to work on larger scale initiatives to diversify our revenue streams.

Dues increase effective 2024:

Effective 2024, the annual membership dues will be increased by about 10% to:

Members in Household as defined in the By-Laws (age 6 and up, no dues charged for members under 6):

1 person: $475.00 (current rate is $430.00)

2 people: $600.00 ($475.00 + 125.00) (current rate is $545.00) ($430.00 + $115.00))

3 people: $725.00 (current rate is $660.00)

4 people: $850.00 (current rate is $775.00)

5+ people: $915.00 (current rate is $835.00)

 Senior: $427.50 (current rate is $387.00)

2 Seniors: $540.00 (427.50 + $112.50) (current rate is $490.50 (387 + $103.50))
