Following up on questions about dredging at the recent Annual Membership Meeting, Mayor Vergano, as he said he would, sent us an update last week.

He reported that Wayne Township hired Trident Environmental early this year to obtain all required NJDEP permitting and to provide contract administration. Trident applied to the NJDEP for necessary permits, which have not yet been issued.  As we know from the recent footbridge replacement project, these permits can sit at the NJDEP for months before even being looked at. Due to permitting and other necessary planning, it is anticipated that dredging will occur in the 2024-2025 fall/winter season. We will continue to be in contact with our elected officials and keep the membership updated.
