2. MEMBERSHIP VOTE ON BY-LAW CHANGE AT MARCH MEETING:

Current By-Laws Language Regarding Audit:

         ARTICLE XII CLUB FUNDS

          Section 4

The books of the Club shall be subject to a yearly audit. The auditors shall be selected by the Board of Directors.

Proposed New Language:

                ARTICLE XII CLUB FUNDS

                Section 4

The books of the Club shall be subject to a yearly audit or review. The auditor/CPA shall be selected by the Board of Governors and approved by the Board of Directors.

Interpretive Statement:

A formal accounting “audit” is expensive, excessive and time-consuming relative to PLCA’s size and corporate structure. An accounting “review” is also performed by an accountant and results in a similar level of assurance as to the integrity of PLCA’s finances. Switching to a review is expected to save PLCA thousands of dollars per year. The By-Laws will still allow for a formal audit if necessary.

PLCA Board of Governors and Board of Directors

3. NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT

The Nominating Committee of Terese Besso, Ray Egatz, Mark Granstrand, Paul Pizio and David Bowie, hereby put forth Terese Besso for re-election to the Board of Directors, and Tom Uhlein for election to the Board of Directors. (Note: Tom Uhlein was previously appointed to complete the term of a departed Director, and is now up for election to a full term, in accordance with the By-Laws.)

TERESE BESSO:

Terese Besso previously served two terms on the Board of Governors, including terms as President of the Board. She then served two terms on the Board of Directors, ending in 2017, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors again since 2022. During her BOG tenure, she was instrumental in revamping and revitalizing the Packanack website to make it user friendly and a useful and informative tool.

Terese and her husband Mike live on Hilltop Terrace and have two children. She is employed as a radiation therapist.

Terese looks forward to continuing her volunteer efforts for the benefit of PLCA and its members.

TOM UHLEIN:

My name is Tom Uhlein, and I submit this biography for your consideration to serve on the Board of Directors at Packanack Lake.

My wife and I purchased our home along Lake Drive East in 2007 and we have been active community participants ever since. We have been members of many clubs and activities, including the golf, tennis, and yacht clubs. We have participated in the PLAA softball and kickball leagues, and coached in the lake’s youth softball and soccer programs. From 2019 to 2022, I served on the Board of Governors. We have a 12-year-old daughter in sixth grade at George Washington Middle School, and she also enjoys everything this incredible community has to offer.

Professionally, I earned my undergraduate degree from Penn State University, and I hold an MFA degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Upon receiving my MFA, I spent 14 years as a faculty member in the College of Arts and Communication at William Paterson University. During my tenure at William Paterson, I was appointed to numerous leadership positions, which included strategic planning, public relations, and fiscal responsibility. Currently, I operate a design studio and work as a consultant for businesses and organizations large and small.

My family and I are deeply committed to Packanack Lake, and it would be a great honor and privilege to continue to serve on the Board of Directors.
