The Junior Sailing program will be offering lessons for both beginner and intermediate/advanced sailors with the addition of a 1-week racing class. The comprehensive nature of instruction dictates that a full 2-week session must be attended; therefore, no partial sessions are offered. Please do not sign up if you can not commit to the full two week program.

The cost of the regular 2 week lessons is $250 and $125 for the racing week.

Session 1 will be held from June 30th through July 11^th (including July 4th), and Session 2 will be held from July 14th through July 25th. The morning lessons (8:30-12:00) will be for beginners and intermediate/advanced lessons will be in the afternoon (1:00-4:30) based on enrollment and interest.

The racing class will be held from July 28th – August 1st – mornings will be 9:00-12 and afternoon sessions will be 1:00-4:00.

As we continue to improve and increase our fleet of boats, we may have to limit the number of students per session. If you have your own family boat, you are welcome to use it for all lessons and racing.

Students must be at least 10 years old by the start of lessons and a PLCA family member in good standing.

To properly gear instruction toward the level of the students’ expertise, the following guidelines have been established: 

• Beginners are those sailors who have no previous experience or completed 1 year of instruction
• Intermediate/advanced lessons are designed for students with 2 or more years of instruction

Lessons can fill up very quickly and class size will be limited. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Payment must be received to confirm your registration.  Drop payment by check made out to PLCA Yacht Club at 96 Lenox Rd, Wayne, NJ to confirm your registration. Please do not drop off any money or forms at the Clubhouse. All dates and times are subject to change.
