DREDGING UPDATE 7/16/25

Dear Packanack Lake Community,

We wanted to provide you with an update on the long-anticipated dredging project at the north end fingers of the lake. While this initiative has experienced several delays, we are pleased to report that work is now scheduled to begin shortly.

Here’s the most recent update we have received and our now expected timeline for the work:

  • July 21–22: Contractor will install Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) measures
  • July 23: Site preparation
  • July 24: Delivery of dredging equipment and anticipated start of dredging (afternoon)
  • In the meantime, the contractor will also be on site collecting required samples for proper material disposal.

During the project, we ask you to please be mindful of the fingers and avoid any areas which are being utilized by the contractor for the project.

Once dredging is complete, the aeration system will be reinstalled in that location to continue supporting water quality and lake health.

PLCA will continue to share updates with the community as helpful, and we thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to improve and preserve our lake.

Sincerely,

Joseph Okaly/David Bowie
