Hello Packanack!
Just a reminder that our annual Plastic Film Recycling Challenge kicks off again on November 4, 2025! Our goal is to recycle 1,000 pounds of plastic film by next November—and with your help, we usually reach that milestone by spring! (Note- for collections before 11/4/25, they do not need to be weighed. Simply empty the bins and transport to Kohls).
How can you help?
- Volunteer to weigh and transport plastics: Empty the bins outside Packanack Church, weigh them (we’ll show you how!) and transport them to Kohl’s—just down the street.
- Keep recycling your plastic film: Every bag, wrapper, and piece of film adds up.
Together, Packanack Elementary and the Packanack Lake Community Association have recycled close to 10,000 pounds of plastic film over the last 3+ years. That’s an incredible community impact, and we’re excited to keep it going strong. Thank you for helping us make Packanack greener, one bag at a time!
