President’s Message January 2026

January – A Fresh Start on the Lake

President’s Message:

Happy New Year, Packanack neighbors! As we welcome 2026, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who makes this community so vibrant — our residents, volunteers, and staff. Winter is a quieter time at the lake, but behind the scenes we are planning for another wonderful year of events, improvements, and connection. Let’s make this a year of kindness, participation, and pride in our community.

Goings On Around the Lake:

Dredging of the East Finger has been completed. We are contacting the Township to get an update on the final timeline and next steps. Please continue to use caution in this area.

Please use caution on the lake during this time of year. PLCA does not test ice conditions, and any ice skating is done at your own risk.

As we continue to enhance our communications and ensure we have accurate member information, please complete the form at the link below if you have not already done so. This will allow you to provide your primary email address and home address. Instructions on how to add additional household members will be shared separately. Be sure to add noreply@townsq.io to your email contacts to prevent messages from going to your junk folder. More information will be shared as we continue to roll out TownSq.

Club Spotlight: Board of Governors

The Board of Governors is responsible for overseeing the stewardship, governance, and long-term vitality of Packanack Lake. Guided by the PLCA By-Laws and Rules and Procedures, the Board manages and maintains community assets such as the lake, dam, beaches, clubhouse, and recreational facilities; establishes and enforces rules and standards; safeguards the community’s character; and promotes fellowship, recreation, health, and safety. The Board operates with an emphasis on transparency, financial integrity, collaboration, and continuity, ensuring responsible administration today while enabling future governors to build upon prior work.

Key objectives for 2026 focus on strengthening core operations while advancing long-term priorities. These include improving communication and member engagement through the use of technology, enhancing recreational programming and volunteer involvement, and proactively addressing member concerns. All of this is aimed at clearly defining and strengthening the Membership Value Proposition (MVP) to ensure Packanack Lake continues to thrive as a vibrant and well-governed community.

See you around the lake,

David Bowie

PLCA President
