Tentative Beach Opening June 22

Packanackers,

We are eagerly targeting the West Beach Opening for June 22nd.

Each member looking to utilize the beach this year will need to request badges and sign a waiver through the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEhiWkLfstsv5P33FIif5dbamB_3fcJY6CQbz-V-uTS52HbQ/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1  as well as follow a new set of beach rules based upon current State Executive Orders and local Health Department guidelines, details of which are included in the above link and will be posted onsite.  Should there be updates between now and opening day or throughout the season, revised guidelines will be posted and communicated.

Badges will be available at the West Beach side window (behind the beach bathrooms) starting on Monday, June 22 when the beach opens, during beach hours. Members will need to wear a mask when picking up badges.  Please observe social distancing when queueing up.

PLCA will provide umbrellas in strategically placed locations to ensure proper social distancing.  Please do not move the umbrellas, as they will be placed to ensure proper safe distancing.  Beachgoers will need to bring their own chairs, seating, and beach toys.  Restrooms will be available.  One person/family in the restroom at a time.  Masks must be worn.  Restrooms will be cleaned throughout the day. Please read and observe the detailed guideline contained in the above link.

The beach will have a maximum capacity and when hit, no additional beachgoers will be admitted until others depart. Adult Supervisors will be working the entrance, maintaining capacity and ensuring guidelines are met for everyone’s safety – members and employees alike.  On opening day, we ask members to queue up with proper social distancing.

At this time, there will be no guests and no beach rentals allowed.

We are looking forward to a great season opener.  We ask everyone for your patience as we work through our “new norm.”  Our lifeguards and adult supervisors want to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all.   We ask everyone to be thoughtful of your friends and neighbors and recognize that everyone is in a different place on the “new norm” journey, and to be respectful of all.  We realize everyone needs an outlet during these times and appreciate your assistance to make sure our beaches remain something we can all enjoy.

Wishing all a wonderful summer!

Jill Sasso, PLCA President
